Personal selling involves the people of the organization that directly interact with clients. Even if they do not realize it, the people that interact with the public are “selling” the organization by the way they speak, behave, and represent themselves. Personal selling is a form of direct marketing because there is direct contact with clients and potential clients. Smart organizations make sure their sales people are aware of their importance and equip them for the role. They also mine the treasure trove of information available from salespeople and have systems set up to perform the task of gathering this data.
