The Pros And Cons of Quarantine

Basically the whole world has been quarantined because of a little something called COVID-19. There have been some pros and cons of being stuck in my house.

I am able to focus more on reading my books or learning a new language. Staying home allows me to focus more on some stuff I might not have been before. However, there are some trials and tribulations to being in quarantine.

Being confined in my house means that, well, I’m stuck in my house and going insane. I rarely get sunlight and it doesn’t help that it’s constantly raining. I’ve had lots of activities I would have gone to, but because of this ongoing pandemic, they’ve had to be canceled. As I mentioned, I’m going crazy and the world has completely flipped upside-down. Toilet paper, once one of the most common necessities, is now as hard to find as diamonds. I’m trying my hardest to refrain from going wild.

During these strenuous hardships, I’ve learned a few valuable lessons. One, you should make friends with your family instead of trying to bite each other’s heads off. Two, get comfortable with the milieu around you. It’s no good to be defiant to everything around you. Finally, you have to make some sacrifices. Even if you don’t want to, play Monopoly for a couple of hours with your family, or try some parsnips. Parsnips admittedly don’t taste the best, but it wouldn’t hurt to try one. 😒

I miss lots of things. I miss the sound of humanity. I miss being able to touch my face more freely. At least I have my family, though. Without them, I’d be with unfeigned honesty less crazy, but they help me and care for me through this all.

I look forward to seeing my friends again and getting out to go to a movie or eat at a restaurant. Quarantine isn’t the most exciting thing in the world. You could get more action in a garden snail race. It would be nice to be around mankind again instead of staying with the same people for what feels like a Millenium. Stay home and stay safe.
